Abstract

A description of the decline in cornet usage in the United States. Includes strongly gendered language in describing the cornet and trumpet: "the cornet, small, fragile, dainty, with its emphasis on beauty rather than strength, is the female counterpart of the trumpet... Like any Damsel in Distress, it deserves to be rescued now."
