Part 1 Contains extensive notes about the history and use of the trumpet, divided into "old" and "new" trumpets, including a list of ancient instruments. Describes the social and functional use of the trumpet in 18th-Century Germany. Part 2 is a practical treatise for performing on baroque trumpet.
